CFC-FFL COMMUNITY PRAYER 2015

Almighty Father, you are our Creator and God. We acknowledge your dominion over us, that we belong to you, that you hold our very lives in your hands. We come before you in worship and praise.

Lord Jesus, you are our Savior and Master. You call us into your body on earth, making us brethren to one another. Bind us together as one, united in your heart and mind, able to live and serve as your holy instruments.

Holy Spirit, fill us and continue to empower us to witness. Guide us and equip us in the work of evangelization. Give us the boldness to proclaim Christ, wherever we are, until this work reaches the very ends of the earth.

Triune God, you have given us the privilege of being stewards of your grace and mercy. Help us to be faithful, to claim nothing as our own, to give without counting the cost, to endure and joyfully embrace the cross. Favor us, Lord, so that by our common work the needs of all will be met.

Mama Mary, we look to your quiet strength and fullness of grace. Accord us great favor as you intercede for our needs and for our work. May your Son Jesus be glorified in all we do.

Amen.

LCSC AND CFC-FFL

How does LCSC intersect with CFC-FFL? It should not be about competition or mutual exclusion but about collaboration and synergy.

LCSC is intended to be a work separate from that of CFC-FFL. LCSC is not an outreach of CFC-FFL, nor is it a fishing pool for CFC-FFL. There is no recruitment into CFC-FFL. It is just the privilege of CFC-FFL to have given birth to LCSC, and of course it will be CFC-FFL brethren who will spearhead LCSC in the parishes.

For us in CFC-FFL, the relevant questions would be: (1) How do we respond to the call to the New Evangelization? (2) How do we give much more of ourselves in order to serve Christ and his Church? (3) How do we get deeper into the heart of the Catholic Church? The more self-giving we are, the less focused we are on ourselves rather than Christ, the more we empty ourselves for the sake of Christ, the more we are willing to die in order that there might be greater life for others, then that is the right path. That is looking to the cross on the road.

Since LCSC is a movement and CFC-FFL is a community, there is a need for both. CFC-FFL will provide much deeper formation that will be needed if one is to live Christ. LCSC’s basic focus is bringing Catholics back to Christ and to an active life in the parish. Once parishioners are in, it is up to the parish to provide further formation and support as needed. If such is not available in the parish, then LCSC can also provide these.

                                      NFP Porsuelo Experience

The Catholic Church only accepts Natural Family Planning to postpone pregnancy, when there is a sufficient reason. Therefore, all CFC-FFL members must know how to practice and teach NFP.

Natural Family Planning Workshop was held last March 31, 2012 in Theresian School of Cavite Audio-Visual Room. CFC-FFL adopts the Porsuelo Experience which was derived from Basal Body Temperature method.

The speakers were Jun/Ria San Pedro of CFC-FFL Muntinlupa and member of NFP national core team, Vic/Fely Mercado of CFC-FFL Pro-Life Laguna, and Dra Letty Torrijos-Cruz of Catholic Womens League of Paranaque.

                                    PASTORAL-ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

It is my joy and pleasure to announce the appointment of an Apostolic Board (AB) composed of 12 brethren, who will help me oversee our worldwide work, and help safeguard our charism and vision. The members of the AB are the following:

1.      Lachie Agana

2.      Nonong Contreras (AB Chair)

3.      Mimi David

4.      Maribel Descallar

5.      Jojo Dunglao

6.      Cocoi Javier

7.      Chito Liban

8.      Pancho Lopez-Tan

9.      Ed Mondigo

10.   Bob Murga

11.    Xavy Padilla

12.    Charlie Reyes

CFC-FFL is an evangelistic and missionary community, and we are on the verge of massive evangelization, through such works as the Live Christ, Share Christ (LCSC) Movement, the Live Pure Movement, and our Work with the Poor, among others. All these are in response to the call of the Roman Catholic Church for a New Evangelization.

We intend to help mainstream Catholic lay evangelization through the parishes, to bring lost and lapsed Catholics back to God and back to the Church. We intend to help form the next generation of Catholic leaders, especially in building a counter culture to the sexual revolution. We intend to help build the Church of the Poor, according to Jesus’ mission to bring glad tidings to the poor.

These are the priorities of our Church--lapsed Catholics, the youth, the poor.

The AB will formulate policies, principles, structures, formation modules, ministries and directions that are for implementation throughout the worldwide CFC-FFL family, in collaboration with the Servant General.

I need the help and support of these 12 apostles (those who are sent). I ask that you support them as well, through your prayers, respect and cooperation with AB initiatives.

*     *     *

I also take this opportunity to announce the formation of a Servant Council (SC) of 7 brethren, who will govern community life and work in the Philippines. SCs will eventually be established in other countries, to govern the work in the country, and to help safeguard our vision and promote our mission. The members of the Philippine SC are the following:

1.      Lachie Agana (Country Servant)

2.      Manny Canlas

3.      Jun Caramat

4.      Bobbie Laguitao

5.      Oca Oblefias

6.      Pat Oconer

7.      Joseph Tesoro

I will give out more information as we move along and as needed by our leaders and members throughout the world. In the meantime, please pray for and give your fraternal support for these pastoral-organizational initiatives. In the meantime, our leaders should proceed as usual, until such time as I authorize any other changes in our structures throughout the world. The work must go on without disruption, and even intensify.

We enter into 2014 with our new theme, “Empowered to Witness.” Let us continue to grow in our personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, always being in touch with him through prayer, reading and studying the Bible, receiving him in the Eucharist, doing his work, and embracing his cross. “Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.” (Lk 6:19).

With power from on high, let us then be witnesses of Jesus and let us witness to Jesus. Let us work such that the number of disciples and the number of people who meet and get to know Christ and those under the dominion of the enemy will grow into a great multitude throughout the world. “A great crowd of his disciples and a large number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the coastal region of Tyre and Sidon came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and even those who were tormented by unclean spirits were cured.” (Lk 6:17b-18).

Empowered to witness. “But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). Just as it was then, so should it be today. Let us get to work.

I thank you all for your efforts through all these years. It is much appreciated. Your quiet unselfish labor will never go unrewarded by the Lord. You are all my beloved brethren, and I praise and thank God for you all.

Onward to the New Evangelization.

God bless you all.

SG Frank Padilla
